The Following Pilot Screened at SD Comic Con 2012

The Following is a new show yet to start on Fox starring Kevin Bacon as Ryan Hardy on the hunt for a serial killer played by James Purefoy, the twist is the killer is already in prison and Bacon must hunt for his followers that are under the control of this serial that is already behind bars. This pilot was shown to us at the San Diego Comic Con and I will say it was my favorite pilot of all that were screened. Joe Carroll (James Purefoy) gives a very dark and twisted performance as the lead villain serial killer. By the way the constant references to the works of Edgar Allen Poe are great and makes me think that this should have been the premise to the Raven which bombed earlier this year in theaters. The pilot was intense and felt as if there was not a slow moment for the full length episode. I was surprised with how violent it was (a + in my book) even for network television. Also doesn't to have Kevin Bacon as the lead and a hero at that, as you all know Mr. Bacon has only graced us as a villain in previous roles. Bacon and Purefoy answered questions immediately after the pilot screening, the cast seemed excited with the type of feedback they received for the show. The Following also stars Maggie Grace (Twilight Saga, Lost), Natalie Zea (Justified, Californication), Shawn Ashmore (X-Men), Jeanne Goossen (Alcatraz) and Billy Brown (Dexter). The show was created by Kevin Williamson (Scream, The Vampire Diaries) and directed by Marcos Siega (The Vampire Diaries, Dexter) Be on the lookout for this series which is on board for late 2012-2013 premiere. If done correctly this can be another hit for Fox. Check out the trialer below.
