Films on my radar for Jan 2012

This one is in here for two reasons...I love post apocolyptic/survival films and its nice to see Michael Biehn in a bigger budget film. Always interesting to see how people will change once they are placed in a survival situation especially when writers get creative. Personally, the unhappier the ending the better it is for these types of films.
Haywire
For this one I have to say...I rather see an actress that actually knows how to fight (Gina Carano) instead of sitting through an hour and a half of Angelina Jolie trying to be tough. The fact that Steven Soderbergh directs cannot hurt, plus they managed to fill in the gaps with almost all of Hollywood's leading actors.
Miss Bala
Gritty films like this deserve a shot of mainstream limelight. Drug cartels, money, murder, kidnapping and not to mention hot hispanic chicks, sounds like a recipe for success.
The Grey
Finally, I had to throw this cookie cutter Liam Neeson flick in here just because I admir this his work ethic. This guy puts movies out about as often as MTV releases reality shows. I'm not expecting a blockbuster but checking out Liam Neeson fight wolves can fill up a Tuesday night quite nicely. Just don't get this one confused with his recent films like Taken, The A-team, Unknown etc.
