Predators Review

More than twenty years later from the original Predator, Robert Rodriguez & Troublemaker Studios release the best follow up/reboot to the Predator films called Predators. In an earlier post, I was skeptic of the casting of Adrien Brody as the lead. But after watching the film, I feel that Adrien Brody gave a very solid performance. Hollywood has done this in the past as far as casting irregular actors as the lead protagonist, an example would be Michael Keaton as Batman. The film in it's fullness was entertaining and held the course as far as Predator related storyline goes. The second quarter of the film was a bit slow but it definitely picks up from there. I do have one complaint, the film neglected to show the Predator race holding back from killing an unarmed person, which is a signature trait. But given the circumstances of the movie it worked out anyway. The casting of the film worked very well, which included others like Danny Trejo, Laurence Fishburne, Alice Braga and Topher Grace, The film is well put together and the action is great. I'll be waiting on the next installment since this movie is a clear winner compared to the last two Predator based films. It was nice listening to the actual Predator score and the usual drumming in the background we loved from the original. Returning to the jungle also gives us that nostalgic feel from the first movie. Go see it in theater if you can!
